Siapa yang lebih baik merawat anak?
Lisa Miller menulis artikel berjudul, “Who Knows Best” yang menuturkan kisah tentang Sara Gordon. Sara Gordon adalah perempuan berusia 19 tahun yang tidak dibolehkan merawat anaknya karena dianggap memiliki disabilitas intelektual.
Dalam artikelnya, Lisa menulis:
“But Sara is different. She is able, far more than most intellectually disabled people — maybe more than most people — to admit what she doesn’t know and to enlist the right kind of help. As she told me during the first of two long visits I made to see her and her family, “I know I learn different. And that’s what makes me me. If I didn’t have a disability, I probably wouldn’t act the same way.””
Setelah menempuh jalur hukum selama beberapa waktu akhirnya Sara Gordon mendapatkan kembali hak asuh anaknya.
